Pattern Welded Longsword

I decided to make a pattern welded sword as I had some billets I made about 10 years ago lying around and some en45. I chose to utilise forging skills to make the guard design rather than a T guard or cast fittings , the pommel was also made from chain, firewelded for an interesting pattern and I opted for a full length double fuller, the entire sword weighs in at 1450g including guard, pommel and grip, the blade length is 890mm just under 35" total length is 1155mm 45.5" distal taper goes from 8mm down to 5mm at the tip so well in the range of historical longswords or hand and a half swords. Its been a very time consuming and fascinating project and it still needs more work on the handle and a scabbard to make one day!
