 Fair Mile Forge

About us

Fair Mile Forge is the project of two professional blacksmiths, Matt Hicks and Floyd Wilkins together we’ve been working for over 14 years at nearby Alex Wilkins Blacksmiths with Floyd’s father Alex Wilkins and over the years we have undertaken all manner of metalworking commissions throughout the UK, we’ve learnt a lot of techniques, tips and tricks that we’d like to offer guidance and expertise to anyone interested, so we set up Fair Mile Forge specifically for this purpose, we have combined over 30 years experience and have won awards in various blacksmithing competitions over the years.

We’ve kitted out Fairmile forge with all the necessary equipment for a full forging experience , we use full side blast solid fuel coke forges and anvils, so students can learn the arts of controlling their fire and true forging in a professional blacksmithing experience.
